livestock farm under quarantine
A livestock farm in Incheon, 52 kilometers southeast of Seoul, is cordoned off on Sept. 1, 2024, due to the government's quarantine measures following the confirmation of a case of lumpy skin disease (LSD). LSD is a highly infectious disease that causes skin lesions, fever and loss of appetite, often leading to a fall in milk production and even death. It affects cattle and buffalo via mosquitoes and other blood-feeding insects. (Yonhap)
