National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik addresses a ceremony at the parliament's building in Seoul on April 10, 2026, to mark the 107th anniversary of the launch of the Korean Provisional Assembly. The provisional assembly, also known as the Provisional Legislative Council, was formed in Shanghai in April 1919, following the popular movement the same year that protested for independence from Japan's colonial rule of the Korean Peninsula.
