Yoon instructs aides to swiftly proceed with reform agenda

SEOUL, Nov. 4 (Yonhap) -- President Yoon Suk Yeol on Monday instructed his senior aides and the Cabinet to swiftly proceed with his reform agenda, Yoon's spokesperson said.

Yoon gave the instruction at a meeting with his senior aides earlier in the day, presidential spokesperson Jeong Hye-jeon said in a written briefing.

With the half-way point of Yoon's five-year term nearing this month, the presidential office also said it will hold policy briefings this week to review major achievements and outline future policy direction.

On Tuesday, Sung Tae-yoon, the chief of staff for policy, will provide an overview of the Yoon administration's key policies and reform initiatives over the past two and a half years, and the government's upcoming steps.

The next day, Principal Deputy National Security Adviser Kim Tae-hyo will discuss achievements in foreign policy and security as well as future tasks.

Kim is expected to address several topics, including North Korea's dispatch of troops to Russia in support of its war in Ukraine, relations with the United States following the Nov. 5 presidential election and other pressing issues.
