SEOUL, May 13 (Yonhap) -- Boy group ENHYPEN, which is about to make its official debut in Japan, sat atop Japanese music tracker Oricon's monthly chart in addition to the daily and weekly charts with its Korean album.
According to the agency Belift Lab on Thursday, their second mini album "BORDER: CARNIVAL," released in April, topped the monthly album chart the previous day.
After ENHYPEN dropped "BORDER: CARNIVAL" on April 26th, the EP reached to the top of the Daily Albums Chart, four days later.
Since then, the seven-piece act's mini album topped the weekly album chart for the first time in the group's history, and maintained their position at the top of the charts in the latest data compiled between May 3-9.
ENHYPEN is the first for both Japanese or overseas artists to have topped the Oricon weekly album chart for two consecutive weeks this year.
ENHYPEN, a multinational group, which includes a Japanese member Nikki, was formed through a S.Korean boy group survival reality show, "I-Land." The show which documents the process of the current members being selected into a group, has become a hot topic in Japan, expanding ENHYPEN's fandom.
They will officially debut in Japan on July 6 with their first single, "Border: Hakanai."
