SEOUL, July 1 (Yonhap) -- K-pop girl group Brown Eyed Girls’ member Gain was fined for illegal use of propofol.
On the 1st (KST), Gain’s agency Mystic Story apologized on the matter.
The plastic surgeon that was charged with selling etomidate, a type of general anesthetic, to Gain was recently sentenced to prison in the second trial.
The sentence also revealed that apart from this incident, Gain had been fined for using propofol between July and August 2019. This was not made open to the public in the original report as Gain’s name had not been disclosed.
“Gain deeply apologizes for inconvenience she has caused as a public figure,” Mystic Story said. “Gain has been suffering performance-related injuries, depression and sleep disorders, which caused her to make the wrong choice of using the drug.”
The agency promised to be more prudent in the future.
