SEOUL, May 28 (Yonhap) -- Actor Kim Do-hoon
(23), who successfully pulled off two completely different roles in the MBC TV series "Here's
My Plan," playing a part-timer, while acting as a gangster in OCN's thriller
drama "Dark Hole," recently met with Yonhap News Agency for an interview.
Regarding his role as Jo Yoon-ho in "Here's
My Plan," Kim Do-hoon said, "My
character is someone who has a big heart," adding, "I'm similar to my
character's personality in that I like to be considerate of others first."
"In the scene where So-hyun (played by actress Kim Hwan-hee) says, 'When someone reaches out to help, both the victim and the helper fall into misery,' Yoon-ho replies, 'If there is someone willing to help, the situation gets better,' which I think reflected my character's personality the best."
"I don't think a person who is as understanding
and caring as Yoon-ho exists, but I hope there will be more people like him in
this world," Kim Do-hoon said.
Although, "Here's My Plan" had only four episodes, Kim Do-hoon--an actor who is only in his third year of acting--was still cast as the leading roles in a drama hosted by one of S.Korea's major broadcasting stations.
"When I went to audition for the first
time, I didn't know my character was such an important role in the drama,"
Kim Do-hoon said. "I felt so pressured and sometimes I had a hard time because
I wanted to be perfect, but in the end I was able to play my character well by
following the director's guidance."
The 22-year-old actor also expressed his gratitude
towards actor Ryu Soo-young and actress Kim Hwan-hee, who were his co-stars in
"Here's My Plan."
"I'm really thankful for Hwan-hee and
Ryu Soo-young. Especially, actor Ryu Soo-young, who would calm me down with a
little jokes or advice whenever I would get nervous. It really helped me a
lot."
Actor Kim Do-hoon steadily built his acting
experiences by attending Kaywon High School of Arts and majoring in Theater and
Film later on. "I still remember when I first performed on stage during my
freshmen year and received applause from the audience," said Kim Do-hoon. "That's
when I decided to become an actor."
Kim Do-hoon, who picked actor Hwang
Jung-min as his role model, said, "Although I don't know a lot of personal
details about actor Hwang Jung-min, I was impressed by the way the he would be
the first one to arrive at the filming sites. One day when I'm in the same
position as Hwang Jung-min, I hope to enjoy acting and not lose passion."
The actor continued the interview saying he
wanted to be as confident and brave like So-hyun from "Here's My
Plan."
"As an actor, I think it is a little greedy of me to say that I want act incredibly well right now. I think you have to experience a lot in order to improve your acting skills. However, I hope that today I'm even a tiny bit better than I was yesterday and continue to improve as I get older."
