SEOUL, Dec. 7 (Yonhap) -- The lead actors of "Spider-Man: No Way Home," which will be released for the first time in Korea on Dec. 15, opened up about how the superhero movie series has made them feel like family.
In an online media press conference on Tuesday, Tom Holland, who stars as Spider-Man and Peter Parker, Jacob Batalon as Spider-Man's best friend Ned Leeds, and Zendaya as MJ, all said they grew up with the movie.
All three actors were born in 1996 and share the same age.

"This movie is very meaningful for all three of us," Holland said. "We met each other for the first time when we were 19 and became very close friends. Now, we're like a family even outside of the 'Spider-Man' universe."
"Over a span of five years, we have become like family both in and outside the film," Batalon said. "This close relationship will continue even after the movie is over."
"Spider-Man: No Way Home" tells the story of Peter Parker, who revealed his identity as Spider-Man, asking for help from Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) after he is unable to separate his regular life from the dangers of exposing himself as a superhero. While receiving help from Doctor Strange, Peter Parker unexpectedly opens a multiverse and faces higher stakes.

"In the first movie, MJ doesn't talk too much with Peter Parker, but after finding out about each other's feelings in the second movie, the two characters fall in love in the third movie," Zendaya said. "It's special how everything doesn't happen overnight, and the movie depicts two people naturally maturing in a relationship."

The actors also talked about their experiences in meeting Korean stars such as Jung Ho-yeon of "Squid Game," Tottenham Hotspur's Son Heung-min and director Bong Joon-ho.
Zendaya, who met Jung at a recent fashion event in New York, said, "Just like how we had a lot of changes in our lives after starring in 'Spider-Man,' Jung also seemed to be undergoing a very big change since 'Squid Game,'" adding, "When I told her to come visit the filming site for 'Euphoria' in LA, she really came. Jung is talented, friendly, and an actress full of good energy."
Holland, who revealed to be a fan of England's professional football club Tottenham Hotspur, said, "(Son Heung-min and I) talked for an hour in this room, and I asked him a lot of questions like an interview," adding, "I had a chance to meet Bong Joon-ho a while ago, but we only talked about Son Heung-min."
