BTS 'Proof' tops Circle Chart in first half selling nearly 3 million copies

SEOUL, July 8 (Yonhap) --"Proof" by K-pop group BTS (BTS) became the best-selling album in the first half of this year, according to Circle Chart (formerly Gaon Chart).

The album topped the list with 2,957,410 cumulative sales, according to Circle Chart's "2022 First Half Album Chart" on Friday.

Following BTS, Seventeen's fourth full-length album "Face the Sun" and NCT Dream's second full-length album "Glitch Mode" came in second and third, respectively.

“Proof” is an anthology album that covers nine years of its history since the debut.

2.15 million copies (based on Hanteo Chart) were sold within a day of release, recording 2.75 million copies in the first week.

BTS has made an achievement of placing a total of 12 albums, including "Proof," on the Circle Chart Top 100 album chart in the first half of the year.

“Proof” also received "Double Platinum" certification in Japan, recording more than 250,000 units based on local record association shipments.
