SEOUL, Nov. 15 (Yonhap) -- Following Kim Yo-han, a member of the boy group WEi who was confirmed to have contracted COVID-19 on Sunday, member Kim Jun-seo of the same group was also tested positive.
"Kim Jun-seo showed symptoms after he was tested on Nov. 14, and he was confirmed to be diagnosed with COVID-19 today," WEi's management agency, OUI Entertainment, wrote in a notice on the group's official fan community page. "The singer showed mild symptoms."
After Kim Yo-han was infected, the members of WEi and staff have been classified as close contacts and underwent polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing. Four out of six members, including Jang Dae-hyeon, Kim Dong-han, Yoo Yong-ha, and Kang Seok-hwa, were tested negative.
"Jang Dae-hyun, Kim Dong-han, Yoo Yong-ha, and Kang Seok-hwa, who were classified as close contacts with Kim Yo-han during the PCR testing, are taking the necessary steps and self-isolation in accordance with the health authorities' guidelines," OUI Entertainment explained.
"Since it has not been two weeks since Kim Dong-han and Yoo Yong-ha got their first dose of vaccines and have yet to receive their second vaccine shots, the two members were notified to undergo 10 days of self-isolation. The remaining two members will be re-examined and if tested negative, they will be monitored afterwards," the agency added.
All schedules of WEi members have been canceled or postponed.
"All schedules, including offline fan signing events scheduled on Nov. 24, will either be canceled or postponed," the agency said. "Even if Kang Seok-hwa is tested negative, it has been decided that the singer will not appear in the musical 'Klimt' on Nov. 20.
