SEOUL, April. 4 (Yonhap) -- Netflix, which released the global hit "Single’s Inferno" series and "Physical: 100," will showcase a number of new genres of entertainment.

Netflix met with local media at the community house Masil in Jung-gu, Seoul on Tuesday and said, "We plan to release at least seven original entertainment series by the end of this year," adding, "We have a lot of new genres as well as love reality and survival entertainment."

Starting with the X-rated talk show "Risque Business: Japan" hosted by comedian Shin Dong-yeob and Sung Si-kyung on the 25th, the survival "Siren: Survive the Island" will be unveiled in the first half of this year, where 24 women compete in teams of six occupations.

In addition, youth reality "19/20," which records the daily lives of young people who have just become adults, zombie universe entertainment show "Zombieverse," brain survival game entertainment "Devils Plan," which determines the best brains that will win up to 500 million won in prize money, and "Single’s Inferno 3" will visit viewers in the second half of this year.

As there are many entertainment programs featuring non-celebrities, Netflix emphasized that it is making steady efforts to verify the participants.

Director Yoo Ki-hwan, who is in charge of entertainment shows in the Netflix content team, said he is going through verification processes such as checking the cast's student records, consulting with psychiatrists, reviewing personal social media (SNS), and signing compensation contracts.

"We continue to think about how to solve issues related to the cast that may occur after the broadcast as well as past controversies so that viewers can be satisfied," he stressed.

At the press conference, Jung Hyo-min, Lee Eun-kyung, Park Jin-kyung, Kim Jae-won, and Jung Jong-yeon, who directed the Netflix entertainment series, attended and had time to introduce their works in person.

Producer Jeong Hyo-min, who directed " Risque Business: Japan," said, "It's a subject that's never been covered in the broadcast," adding, "I finished filming in Japan and Taiwan, and the production team said, 'I've traveled a lot, but I didn't know there was a world like this.'"

Producer Park Jin-kyung, who directed "Zombieverse," laughed, "I started by asking the cast if they could become a hero in a situation where zombies appear as in movies and dramas."
