SEOUL December 5 (Yonhap) -- South Korean actress Kim Yoo-jung and actor Lee Sang-yi will be starring in the play “Shakespeare in Love” which will be premiering in South Korea for the first time.
Production company Show Note disclosed the cast lineup of the upcoming play “Shakespeare in Love” on Monday, which will take place Seoul Art Center starting from January 28 until March 26
Play “Shakespeare in Love” which premiered in West End UK in 2014 is a love story between the great man of letters William Shakespeare and Viola De Lesseps through the scenes of “Romeo and Juliet.”
Based on the original movie which received Silver Bear award from the Berlin International Film Festival and Best picture, Best Actress, Best supporting actress and Best screenplay written directly for the screen at the 71st academy award play writer Lee Hall has dramatized the movie into a play.
For the younger version of Shakespeare, actor Jung Moon-sung, Lee Sang-yi, Kim Sung-cheol has been appointed, for the role of Viola, De Lesseps actress Jung So-min, Chae Soo-bin, Kim Yoo-jung has been appointed.
Actress Kim Yoo-jung who showcased detailed portrayal of characters through South Korean drama series “Love in the Moonlight,” and the movie “20 Century Girl” will be debuting to the stage of play with “Shakespeare in Love.”
