SEOUL, August 11 (Yonhap) -- Singer and entrepreneur Jessica, ex-member of Girls’ Generation, published her second novel “Bright.”
She, who debuted in 2007, was a member of globally popular girl group until she unexpectedly left the team in 2014 and began solo activities.
She made herself known as an entrepreneur with her own fashion brand “Blanc & Eclare,” and she recently became a center of attention once again by re-debuting as a girl group member through Chinese audition program.
“Bright” is claimed to be fiction genre. But if you had even a slight interest in Jessica, you cannot hide the confusion by the strong sense of deja vu as you flip through the pages.
Main character Rachel debuts as a nonet girl group after going through hard training at DB Entertainment. She, who became a role model for teens, later becomes a fashion designer and even meets her destiny Alex.
But Rachel is unilaterally notified to leave the team by the team members who were discontent about her fashion business.
This story line reminds of incidents that shook the world when Jessica left the team in 2014. But Jessica does not mention relation between the real incident and the novel.
The Publisher said “While eight members continuous jealousy and DB Entertainment’s media manipulation continue, incidents regarding Rachel is full of plot twists.”
The book was published in July 28. It was published in S.Korea just before Jessica’s 15th debut anniversary on Aug. 5.
Jessica showed appreciation to her lover Tyler Kwon at the end of the book saying, “If it was not for you, not only this book but many of my dreams would not have come true,” adding, “Thanks for always being by my side through this journey. It was a perfect journey for me.”
The book was published by RH Korea with 464 pages. Cost of 16,800 won.
