SEOUL, August 30 (Yonhap) -- Actor Song Kang-Ho will appear on drama series for the first time in 31 years since his debut.
Song Kang-ho takes on the role of Sam-sik in 10-episode drama “Uncle Samsik,” which deals with the desire and bromance of two men who survived the turbulent period in the early 1960s.
Director Shin Yeon-shick, who worked with the actor in movies “One Win” and “Cobweb,” will direct the drama series.
Song Kang-ho debuted with a play “Teacher Choi” (Literal translation) in 1991, and after playing a minor role in movie “The Day a Pig Fell into the Well” in 1996, he has only been acting in movies.
He proved his acting skills by starring in movies “JSA,” “Memories of Murder,” “Thirst,” “Snowpiercer,” “The Face Reader,” and “The Throne,” and movies “The Host,” “The Attorney,” “A Taxi Driver,” and “Parasite” surpassed ten million audiences.
He won the best actor award in Cannes film festival with Movie “Broker” last May.
The channel for “Uncle Samsik” has not been decided.
