SEOUL, Mar. 18 (Yonhap) – S. Korean actress Jung Ho-yeon, who has become a global star with her acting debut series "Squid Game," will appear in a series directed by Alfonso Cuarón.
According to U.S. entertainment industry news, such as Variety and Deadline, on Mar. 18, Jung was cast in the Apple TV+ original “Disclaimer,” which is the first series directed by Alfonso Cuarón.
The series, based on Renée Knight’s novel of the same title, is a psychological thriller that depicts the story of a successful and respected television documentary journalist who discovers a novel containing the history of her past in details, which were veiled in secrets. In Korea, it was translated and published under the title "Somebody Knows(translated)."
Earlier, Apple TV+ announced that Cuarón, who won the Academy Award for Best Directing for the movie "Roma," will direct "Disclaimer," and Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline will appear in the film.
Jung will play the role of Kim, described as ambitious, hardworking, and eager-to-please for Catherine(Cate Blanchett).
Jung became the first Korean actress to win the prize of Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series at the U.S. Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.
