SEOUL, Feb. 10(Yonhap) – K-pop boy group Pentagon’s Yeo One(real name Yeo Chang-gu), who recently made a comeback, will halt his activities for a while due to his back injury from a car accident.
The agency Cube Entertainment said through its official social media page on Feb. 10, "Member Yeo One has been involved in a car accident, where his vehicle was hit by a drunk driver, while returning home from his personal schedule on the early morning of Feb. 9.”
Immediately after the accident, Yeo One was taken to the emergency room to receive a first-aid treatment.
The agency explained, "Although Yeo One appeared in a live program as he desired on Feb. 9 afternoon, but later suffered from a back injury while returning back to his accommodation," adding, "He has been treated and is currently recovering.”
It also mentioned, "In order to prioritize the health and speedy recovery of our artist, Yeo One will halt his activities for the time being and focus on his treatment.”
As a result, Pentagon will perform as a 7-member group without Yeo One for a while.
Pentagon, which debuted in 2016, has drawn attention for its outstanding stage performance and production skills.
The group’s 12th mini album “IN:VITE U” ranked high in the iTunes Top Album category in 30 regions around the world right after its release, and the title song “Feelin’ Like” has topped the music show.
