SEOUL, April 7 (Yonhap) -- The world renowned film, "Minari" and S. Korean indie rock band, Se So Neon, have collaborated to produce a music video, which portrays the lives of Korean immigrant families.
According to Se So Neon's agency, Magic Strawberry Sound, a music video that showed clips of the movie "Minari" with the band's latest song, "Jayu" playing in the background was released on April 5th.
The agency explained that "Jayu" delivers the message of finding courage to face the fear in the world. "We believed that the song as well as the movie had similar perspectives on the world which is what makes this collaboration even more special," they addded.
"When I watched the movie 'Minari', I could see a community of families living through a difficult era, which was very realistic and I was inspired by the sentiment of pioneering and seeking insight through difficult times. Interestingly enough, I thought about our song, "Jayu", which was released around the same time," said Se So Neon.
"We were offered a collaboration to make a music video a few days after I left the movie theater with a warm and beautiful lingering feeling in my heart so I agreed without hesitation," Se So Neon added. "I'm happy to feel another sense of freedom through a collaboration with an amazing movie."
Se So Neon is a next-generation band that attracts attention not only in Korea but also abroad with their EP (mini album) "Nonadaptation" being selected as one of the 35 rock albums of 2020 by Pitchfork, a famous U.S. music critic.
