Thom Browne to set up new company in Korea

SEOUL, Jan. 28 (Yonhap) – Thom Browne, a luxury fashion brand based in New York City, will now focus even more on the Korean market by setting up a new company.

The fashion house will establish Thom Browne Korea in July and will be paving its entrance to the Korean market, Samsung C&T announced on Friday.

Based on the retail management contract signed by these two fashion firms, Samsung C&T will be in charge of Thom Browne’s overall business operation as it has been until now, even after the New York megaband establishes a new company in Korea.

Thome Browne Korea will be supervising the brand’s investments and expenditures in Korea, while Samsung C&T’s fashion division assists Thome Browne Korea with the overall business tasks such as product ordering, merchandising and distribution, as well as managing the stores and human resources.

Samsung C&T’s fashion division signed an exclusive domestic sales contract with Thome Browne formerly in 2011.

“In spite of some revisions made in the contract, the two firms will continue to cooperate to maximize business potential,” said an official from Samsung C&T’s fashion division.
