Romance film 'A Year-End Medley' debuts at No. 3 on weekend box office

SEOUL, Dec. 31 (Yonhap) -- “A Year-End Medley,” a romance film for the end of the year debuted No. 3 at the box office.

The movie ranked No. 3 at local theaters with 38,000 viewers (accounting for 14.5 percent of the period's total ticket sales), on the first day of its release, according to the data by the Korea Film Council, Friday.

The movie maintained a steady score with 30,000 audiences (accounting for 12.8% percent of the period's total ticket sales), on the second day.

Ranging from the 2001 smash-hit "My Sassy Girl" to "The Classic," the new movie's director Kwak Jae-yong covers the love story of 14 people who come together at Hotel Emross to celebrate the holidays.

Marvel's “Spider-man: No Way Home” topped the daily box office by attracting 100,000 people while "The King's Man" remained in second place and "The Matrix Resurrections" dropped to fourth. 

 

The latest Spider-man series accounted for 58.7 percent of the total ticket sales on Friday followed by "The King's Man" and "The Matrix Resurrections" taking up 14.2% and 10.3% of ticket sales respectively.
