SEOUL, August 12 (Yonhap) -- Chungbuk Province announced on Friday that Mokdo Brewery and its outbuildings in Goesan county were designated as Registered Cultural Heritage No. 2.
The brewery and the outbuildings in Mok-do Market in Goesan was built in 1939 during the Japanese colonial period and has maintained its original shape to this day.
The brewery is still running and the unique taste of traditional makgeolli is still maintained. In this place, one will also be able to see the transformation of the brewery market and its unique architectural structure.
The provincial government plans to systematically preserve and manage this facility with Goesan County.
Meanwhile, within the province, Jincheon Deoksan Brewery, a similar facility, was designated as a nationally registered cultural heritage in 2003.
