Apple TV+’ ‘Pachinko’ set to release on Mar. 25… starring Youn Yuh-jung and Lee Min-ho

SEOUL, Jan. 27 (Yonhap) -- Apple TV+ will release its second Korean original “Pachinko,” starring Youn Yuh-jung and Lee Min-ho.


The series will premiere globally on Mar. 25, in three languages - Korean, Japanese, and English - according to Apple TV+, Thursday.

“Pachinko” begins with the story of forbidden love and deals with the family saga of war, peace, love and loss, victory, and judgment between Korea and Japan, and the United States.

The show is based on a novel that follows the story of a four-generation Korean family, written by Korean-American Min-jin Lee. The story unfolds around Sun-ja and her family who moved from Joseon to Japan and the United States.

Yoon Yuh-jung plays the older Sun-ja and Lee Lee Min-ho is Han-su. The specific synopsis has not yet been disclosed.


Kim Min-ha stars as teenage Sun-ja, Soji Arai as Mozasu, Jin-ha as Solomon, Jeong In-ji as Yangjin, and Kaho Minami as Etsuko.

Hugh who wrote and produced the series said, “It's a story and tribute to my ancestors. It's an honor to do this project with such dedicated and competent actors and production staff, a story dedicated to all of our family histories."

The series consists of 8 episodes that will release every Friday, until Apr. 29.
