SEOUL, Feb. 14 (Yonhap) -- Hybe Labels Japan, the Japanese subsidiary of K-pop agency Hybe, announced on Friday that it has changed its name to Yx Labels.
The new name reflects the label’s ambition to establish a new aXis in the Japanese music industry. It also carries the meaning of providing fresh (eXtreme) and excellent (eXcellence) entertainment experiences to all youth (Youth), including fans (You).
Yx Labels is home to artists such as the boy group &TEAM.
Hybe explained that this rebranding is part of its Hybe 2.0 strategy, announced last year, which emphasizes a Multi-home, Multi-genre approach—expanding businesses while incorporating local cultures and characteristics.
Hybe Japan stated, "We will continue to strengthen our Multi-home, Multi-genre strategy in Japan and expand our business to realize Beyond Japan, delivering captivating entertainment experiences to the global market."
