SEOUL, June 5 (Yonhap) -- “If we hadn’t had desire since our debut, I don’t think ENHYPEN could have come this far. In that sense, this album suits us well.” (Sunoo)
The group ENHYPEN is making a comeback with a new album titled "DESIRE: UNLEASH," introducing “desire” as a fresh keyword.
Speaking through their agency BELIFT LAB on Thursday, ENHYPEN said, “Since we're returning with a darker vibe after a while, you'll be able to really feel our unique color through the concept, performance, and visuals,” adding, “We hope this album will be recognized as something only ENHYPEN could pull off.”
The sixth mini-album, "DESIRE: UNLEASH," set to be released at 1 p.m. today, captures the members expressing the desires hidden within deepened love.
It features a total of eight tracks, including the title song "Bad Desire (With or Without You)," as well as "Flashover," "Loose," and others.
Regarding the title track, Sunghoon explained, “It’s a highly addictive song with a chorus that lingers in your ear,” and added, “We focused on practicing a restrained yet powerful dance to convey the mood of the song.”
The track "Helium" stands out as member Jay took charge of producing, composing, and playing the guitar.
Jay said, “You’ll get a sense of what kind of thoughts and concerns I have about music,” and added, “This song holds deep meaning for me because it allowed me to spread the wings of my dream.”
Having performed at the major U.S. music festival "Coachella" for the first time this past April, ENHYPEN expressed their desire to carry on the confidence and momentum gained from that stage.
Jay commented, “Coachella was one of the most important dream stages for us, and since we were very nervous, we gained a lot of experience from it. Based on that, I want to show a stronger command of the stage.”
“Through Coachella, we were able to introduce ourselves to many people. We’ve strengthened our resolve to meet expectations with a good performance. We worked hard to show a more mature side of us, so please enjoy!” (Jungwon)
