◇ BLACKPINK becomes first K-pop girl group to top Billboard 200

"Shut Down," a new single from BLACKPINK, debuted on the U.S. Billboard's Hot 100 main singles chart at No. 25, Billboard has said.
Billboard also said on social media Monday (U.S. time) that the K-pop quartet topped this week's Global 200 and came in third on the Global Excl. U.S. with the song.
The band's "Pink Venom" came in second on the two latest global charts.

Both "Shut Down" and "Pink Venom" are from the girl group's second full-length album, "Born Pink," which snatched the act's first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 main albums chart for the week.
On Friday (British time), the album debuted atop Britain's Official Albums Chart Top 100, which made BLACKPINK the only female Asian act ever to simultaneously top the British and U.S. Billboard charts.

APAN Star Awards hosted by the Korea Entertainment Management Association is the only award ceremony in Korea that is held for dramas from all broadcasting stations.
Actor Song Joong-ki from tvN drama "Vincenzo" won the honor of being the best drama star of the year.
Song Joong-ki won grand prize at 2022 APAN Star Awards, which took place at Korea International Exhibition Center on Thursday.

Along with Song Joon-ki, South Korean actor Jung Hae-in known for his acting in S. Korean drama D.P. won the title of Top Excellence Award, Actor in an OTT Series, and Lee Jun-ho was awarded with Top Excellence Award, Actor in a Miniseries throughout the award ceremony. .
Ahead of the award ceremony, Red Carpet event was held at the APAN Star Awards.

South Korean model and actress Jung Ho-yeon has been selected as “TIME 100 Next” by Time Magazine for the first time as a female South Korean actress.
According to the list of “TIME 100 NEXT” released on September 28 (US time), Jung Ho-yeon was included under the segment of “Phenoms” which includes figures who have created a syndrome within one area.
Actress Jung Ho-yeon who debuted through South Korean Netflix series “Squid Game” took major American film awards by surprise.

TIME magazine introduced Jung Ho-yeon through director Hwang Dong-hyuk of “Squid Game.”
“I think Hoyeon is still fighting every day—against her fame, the expectations, the jealousy of her success, as well as her own desires.” adding “I often joke around and call her a ‘warrior.’” addressed director Hwang Dong Hyuk.
Actress recently signed an exclusive contract with the agency CAA “Creative Artist Agency” which withholds famous actor Tom Hanks, actress Zendeya, director Steven Spielberg and more, kicking off her foreign career.
