SEOUL, August 18 (Yonhap) -- As a result of the drama "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" sensation, interest in the Korean cable channel ENA has been significantly increased.
Nielsen Media Korea, a statistical analysis company, said that the amount of times channel ENA got mentioned on social networking services (SNS) increased by 2.69 times, since the first episode of "Extra Ordinary Woo" on June 27 untill July 25, which is for about a month.
Subscribers of Over-the-top (OTT) platforms, such as Netflix, has increased by streaming "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" in their platform.
According to the analysis done by Nielsen Korea, it is shown that weekly mobile users of Netflix has increased by 8%, from 6.81 million to 7.33 million since June 27 until July 25, and Seezn, a Korean OTT streaming service platform resulted in increase of 44%, from 610,000 to 880,000 during the same period.
However, these numbers are calculated solely from Nielson Korea, the platforms are not revealing the numbers of their weekly users.
The character rankings of the drama mentioned in social media have also changed since the beginning of the drama. The main character Woo Young-woo was excluded from the choice.
The character Choi Su-yeon ranked first place and Jung Myeong-Seok ranked second place while episode 3 to 6 was being aired, however the ranking changed and Kwon Min-woo ranked first place and Lee Jun-ho ranked second place while episode 7 to 10 was being aired.
In the beginning of the drama, the characters who took care of Woo Young-woo took the spotlight, but later in the drama, as deeper stories of Woo Yong-woo and her romantic relationship story unfolds, related characters were mentioned more repeatedly.
