SEOUL, Aug. 31 (Yonhap) -- “No Time to Die,” a new chapter in the 007 series, has confirmed to be released in South Korea next month.

Distributor Universal Pictures announced Tuesday that the film will be released in Korea for the first time in the world at 5 p.m. on Sept. 29.

An official from the production team thanked both the Korean theaters for its trustworthy and exemplary quarantine practices as well as the Korean audiences’ love for the 007 series, ultimately confirming the film's first release to be in Korea.

"No Time to Die" portrays James Bond (Daniel Craig)'s final mission to conduct a death-facing operation with the most powerful and fateful enemy.

While Bond spends a peaceful day with Madeleine (Léa Seydoux) after leaving the M16, CIA agent Felix (Jeffrey Wright) informs him about the leak of a new biochemical weapon capable of selective DNA attacks.

In order to prevent the death of millions, Bond returns to M16 and meets new agent Nomi (Lashana Lynch), and finds out that Lyutsifer Safin (Rami Malek), Bond's worst enemy, is still out in the world.

The movie, which was originally scheduled to be released last April, postponed its release three times due to the novel coronavirus outbreak. "No Time to Die" will be released in the U.K. on Sept. 30 and North America on Oct. 8 after its release in Korea.

Director Denis Villeneuve's SF masterpiece "Dune," which was scheduled to be released late last year, is also expected to be released in October.
