Seventeen’s Vernon tests positive for COVID-19…"did not have close contact with members"

SEOUL, Feb. 26 (Yonhap) – K-pop boy group Seventeen’s Vernon has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the agency Pledis Entertainment on Feb. 26.

Vernon tested positive from the self-test kit, which was conducted due to his sore throat on Feb. 24. Accordingly, the singer received PCR test and tested positive on Friday morning.

Pledis Entertainment explained, “Vernon currently does not show any special symptoms other than sore throat and he is receiving treatments at home,” adding, “Vernon had contacts with members DK and Dino on Feb. 22 and S.Coups and Woozi on Feb. 23, but they did not come in close contact as they only met for a brief moment while wearing masks.

DK, Dino, S.Coups, and Woozi all tested negative from antigen tests.

The agency also mentioned, “It will be difficult for Vernon to take part in Seventeen’s performances for a while,” adding, “We will try our best for his speedy recovery, considering the health of the artist as the top priority.
