SEOUL, Feb. 18 (Yonhap) -- 14-year-old trot prodigy Jeong Dong-won has tested positive for COVID-19.
“Jeong has been confirmed with COVID-19 on Thursday,” said Show Play Entertainment on the singer’s official fan cafe, Friday.
Jeong, who completed the second vaccination, has been periodically checking for infection with a self-test kit before participating in the schedule and was confirmed through a PCR test after testing positive on the 16th.
The agency explained, "Jeong stopped all schedules after the self kit test on the 16th, and is on self-quarantine and treatment under the care of his family," adding, “He is currently asymptomatic and recovering well."
The singer won fifth place in TV Chosun’s audition program “Mr. Trot,” with his vocal power, and recently starred in TV Chosun’s "Gaenari School" (translated) and “Tuesday Night is the best” (translated).
