SEOUL, Jan. 31 (Yonhap) - The Northeast Asian History Foundation announced on Tuesday that it has recently opened the Dokdo Museum, a facility that informs the history and natural environment of Dokdo, in a metaverse manner.
The Metaverse Exhibition Hall was built so that people can experience all exhibits online without visiting the Dokdo Museum, which was expanded and relocated to Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul last year.
Users can access the Metaverse Dokdo Museum (https://zep.us/play/ya0mLR), set a nickname for their characters, and enter the virtual experience center.
Users can see all the materials in the Yeongdeungpo Dokdo Museum, including explanatory materials on the natural environment and history of Dokdo.
It is also possible to visit Dokdo's Seodo and Dongdo to learn about Dokdo while playing games. The Metaverse Dokdo Museum is designed for educational use in front-line schools.
The Northeast Asian History Foundation has released an application containing augmented reality (AR) content for lower grades of elementary school called "Soft Dokdo, what are you doing?.”
Dokdo's nature, history, and related figures were made into 16 characters, and eight animations were prepared to be seen around the characters.
To view the animation, install the app and visit the Dokdo Museum in Yeongdeungpo-gu to scan the actual card with the app, or visit the Dokdo Museum website(http://dokdomuseum.nahf.or.kr/edu-event/edu/data/40)) to download and print the card.
