SEOUL, Apr. 8 (Yonhap) – Member Vernon said, “Since the lyrics are in English, I think it would be a chance for us to get close to 'Carats'(Seventeen’s fan club name) from more diverse regions, including North America.”

K-pop boy group Seventeen said during a press conference held at Apple's Myeongdong store in central Seoul on Apr.7, which was ahead of the release of their first English single “Darl+ing” on Apr. 15 at 1 p.m(KST), “We depicted our story that we wanted to tell Carats from all over the world with the group’s own emotions” adding, “It is a great song so please look forward to it.”

It is Seventeen’s first group English song since the debut and it is also a pre-release song of the band's fourth full album set to come out in May.

Member Seung-kwan introduced, “It would be a comfort to our global fans whom we haven’t met since the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak,” adding, “It is a song of Synth Pop genre that makes you feel comfortable.”

The leader S. Coups said, “We play music for Carats that continue to support us far from North America,” adding, “Although we are far from each other, we wanted to give comforts with music and tell our fans to look forward to seeing each other when the pandemic ends.”

Seventeen will hold the event where the fans remix the new song using the application “GarageBand,” which is collaborated by Apple.

Woozi said, "The biggest strength of the application 'GarageBand' is that it is easy to access," adding, "I first used this application when I was interested in music back in childhood, and when I think of many people listening to our music through the application, I came to recall the past.”

He also added, “When I was a trainee, I worked on composing songs with this application until the next morning and that was our beginning,” adding, “That’s why we’ve become a group that makes our own music.”

Seventeen has produced million sellers with its album every time and also made the top 10 of the Global Artist Chart of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry for the first time at No. 9.

The group, which could not meet the fans due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, was able to quench its “thirst” in terms of performing on the stage through the fan meeting, which was recently held in a large scale.

S. Coups stated, “We have to meet our fans in person to get energy to produce the next album, but we were not satisfied as we could not perform on the stage for a long time,” adding, “We were motivated to continue our performances as we performed on the stage during the fan meeting.”
