SEOUL, April 25 (Yonhap) -- Singer Jeong Dong-won, dubbed a trot prodigy, will return with a new album.

Jeong will release his first mini-album “Handwritten Letter” today at 6 p.m., through music streaming sites, according to the agency Showplay Entertainment, Monday.

The album contains songs that express the feelings of love, comfort, and support as if they were sent in a hand-written letter.

The title song “Angel’s Hair” reminds the listeners of the love and purity for people.

The album consists of 8 tracks including a semi trot song “I know everything although I’m young” (translated title), a remake of Joo Byung-sun’s song “Wild Flower” (translated title), and a fast tempo track “I’m Peter Pan" (translated title).

The agency introduced, “The new album consists of trot, semi-trot, rock, and ballad songs and will show the various charms of Jeong,” adding, “It is the first time Jeong will try rock song in an official album.”

After appearing in the Hamyang County special episode of KBS' "National Singing Contest" in 2018 as well as reality shows like "Screening Humanity" and SBS' "Einstein," Jeong became known as the "trot prodigy,” “musical genius.”

Jeong plans to open a concert next month in Busan, Gwangju, Seoul, and Daegu and meet fans.
