SEOUL, Dec. 2 (Yonhap) -- Rookie girl-group “IVE” who have received a lot of anticipation even before debut finally set their first step into the music scene on December 1st.
The band consists of 6 members, Yu-jin, Gaeul, Rei, Won-young, Liz and Leeseo. Their name IVE, from the phrase “I Have,” represents the 6 members’ ambition “To show what I and we have in an IVE-ish way of confidence.”
“We feel excited and are eager to show you our various shades as IVE. We will present great performances,” said the leader Yu-jin during an online debut showcase on the 1st.
Although it was the band’s first day, there were a few faces familiar to the public.
Won-young and leader Yu-jin have already debuted once as a project group “IZ*ONE” through Mnet’s audition program “Produce 48” and are currently MCs for music shows as well.
“Members from IZ*ONE have congratulated us,” said Won-young with a bright smile.
“It feels like a dream standing here. We will show you our growth. We hope for your love as we have practiced really hard,” said the youngest, 14-year-old Leeseo. She is said to have a beautiful vocal.

The band said that they focused on pouring IVE’s own color into the debut album “ELEVEN.”
“People call the 11 top players who achieved best scores or outstanding performances in soccer the ‘Best Eleven.’ Like that our best members will show great teamwork in various units,” said Gaeul.
The title song “ELEVEN” sings a girl fallen in love getting colored into fantastic shades.
“We want to show ‘IVE’s own color and great performance,” said Yu-jin.
“Please keep your eyes on and stay all ears for the members’ attractive voices and our restless group dances,” said Rei, a Japanese member.
“We would love to go on a world-tour or have schedules overseas if the COVID-19 pandemic gets better. As K-pop is receiving a worldwide love, we want to build a better base and present great performances if we get the chances,” said Won-young.
“We will charm you with our way of confidence. Our goal is to impress the public. We want ‘IVE’ to be considered as ‘perfect’ and to become an ‘iconic wannabe’ model to gen MZ,” said Rei.
