SEOUL, Feb. 24 (Yonhap) – As a series of romance dramas starring actresses Son Ye-jin, Kim Tae-ri, and Park Min-young follow one after another, “Thirty-Nine” starring Son Ye-jin is receiving the most favorable reviews online.
According to an analysis by Smart Media Rep(SMR), which distributes video on demand(VOD) of major broadcasters to online platforms, such as Naver and YouTube, on Feb. 24, the average views of JTBC’s Wednesday-Thursday drama “Thirty-Nine” per episode exceeded 3.3 million views.
The figure far exceeds those of “Forecasting Love and Weather(JTBC),” the weekend drama starring Park Min-young that was aired a week earlier, and “Twenty-Five Twenty-One(tvN)” starring Kim Tae-ri, which each recorded 1.9 million and 1.8 million views.
All three dramas are romance dramas, but they show off different attractions.
In terms of the main character's age, “Twenty-Five Twenty-One” depicts love of the youth in their twenties.
“Forecasting Love and Weather” displays the work and love of the female lead, who is in her mid 30s, in the Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA), while “Thirty-Nine” portrays lives and friendship of the three friends on the brick of turning 40.

The teaser video titled "They are happy to be always romantic and together" topped the list with more than 920,000 views, while the ending clip, which depicts the memorial portrait of Jeon Mi-do and Son Ye-jin crying in the second episode, also ranked No. 2 with nearly 900,000 views.

The third and fourth place each went to the video of happening of Park Min-young and the male lead Song Kang after drinking alcohol and the video of Kim Tae-ri and the male lead Nam Joo-hyuk calling each other's name.
Unlike “Forecasting Love and Weather” and “Twenty-Five Twenty-One,” which record high number of views with love scenes, “Thirty-Nine” draws attention with the story of “womance” of three women.
