SEOUL, March 29th (Yonhap) -- Actress Shim Eun-woo (real name Park So-ri) apologized and admitted the allegations of school violence leveled against her twenty days after speculations rose.
The actress apologized on her Instagram account on the 28th saying, "I knew my friend was deeply hurt by my immature words and actions I had caused when I was in school. I want to take this opportunity to sincerely apologize for my behavior."
Shim Eun-woo explained that she had met with the victim last month after allegations of bullying were made towards her, and asked to have another meeting with the victim's family as well on Feb. 25th in order to hear the full story.
"I realized that the things I have said and done without thinking in the past could remain as a permanent scar to the opponent. I will continue to reflect on myself and try to live as a better person in the future," she added.
Earlier this month, a person claiming to have been bullied by actress Shim Eun-woo in middle school posted a post in an online community site.
The writer of the post mentioned to have been bullied during the first year of middle school and eventually transferred to another school due to the bullying caused by Shim Eun-woo. However, the actress's agency explained that "While it is true the writer and Shim Eun-woo had a bad relationship between them, the actress did not cause any physical abuse or engage in misconduct."
Shim Eun-woo debuted with the drama "Wanted" in 2016 and has been gaining fame by appearing in the popular drama, "The World of the Married" last year as Min Hyun-seo. The actress also starred in "Suspicious Partner", "Radio Romance", and "Arthdal Chronicles". The actress is also scheduled to appear in JTBC's upcoming drama, "Fly High Butterfly" within this year.
