Seventeen's single 'Hitori Janai' tops Japan's Oricon weekly chart

SEOUL, April 27 (Yonhap) -- Rising K-pop idol group, Seventeen has topped Oricon's weekly single chart with their third Japanese single "Hitori Janai (ひとりじゃない)."

According to Pledis Entertainment, Seventeen's agency, "Hitori Janai" ranked 1st place on the weekly singles chart by selling 314,765 copies of the album in a week since its release.

The album also topped the Oricon daily single rankings for six consecutive days.

Seventeen's "Fallin' Flower" album surpassed 300,000 copies in their first week of release last year in Japan and "Hitori Janai" has also achieved the impressive record.

"Happy Ending," which was Seventeen's first Japanese single, also sold more than 200,000 copies in the first week, making Seventeen become the first foreign male artists to record impressive results with three albums.

The leader of Seventeen, S. Coups, expressed his gratitude to their fans, saying, "Every moment with 'CARATs (Seventeen's fan club name)' is part of our precious youth, and most of all, I'm proud and happy to decorate a page of our youth with such records."
