SEOUL, March 20 (Yonhap) -- British Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden has visited the SM Entertainment headquarters in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on the 19th and toured the studios as part of his Korea visit.

According to SM Entertainment on the 20th, Deputy Prime Minister Dowden and British Ambassador to Korea Colin Crooks visited the SM headquarters the previous day and met with SM CEO Lee Soo-man and Choi Jung-min, the Chief Global Officer (CGO).

SM stated, "Deputy Prime Minister Dowden has a keen interest in cultural businesses, having previously served as Minister for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, and it is known that his two children are fans of K-pop," explaining that they requested the visit to SM through the British Council in Korea during his visit.

During this visit, Deputy Prime Minister Dowden and his entourage toured the studio center, songwriting camps, recording booths, mixing rooms, and personally listened to sound before and after correction, sharing his impressions.

During the visit, when SM CEO Lee Soo-man mentioned that Moon & Back, a British entertainment company, is preparing to launch a British boy group, Deputy Prime Minister Dowden also expressed anticipation, SM reported.

Deputy Prime Minister Dowden, who visited Korea to attend the third ‘Summit for Democracy' hosted by Seoul, was appointed to his post in April last year.
