SEOUL March 19 (Yonhap) -- The drama "Nothing Uncovered," featuring actor Kim Ha-neul's transformation into a passionate journalist, began its broadcast with a 2% viewership rating.
According to Nielsen Korea, a television rating measurement company, the first episode of KBS 2TV's "Nothing Uncovered," aired at 10:10 p.m. the previous day, recorded a viewership rating of 2.8%.
The episode depicted the cracks beginning to form in the seemingly perfect life of star journalist Seo Jung-won, played by Kim Ha-neul.
Seo Jung-won leads a loving and domestic life with her affectionate husband and is recognized for her abilities as a journalist and a famous investigative program host at work.
However, her life takes a turbulent turn as she stirs up social repercussions by reporting on the corruption of a member of parliament. Her tranquility is further disrupted when she accidentally witnesses the scene of the death of the parliamentarian's housekeeper.
Moreover, when she hears a tip-off about her husband's infidelity, played by Jung Seung-jo, Jung-won is plagued by severe anxiety.
The episode concluded with the chilling discovery of the lifeless body of actress Cha Eun-sae, played by Han Ji-eun, who had been claiming to be the mistress of Jung-won's husband.
"Nothing Uncovered" marked Kim Ha-neul's return as the "Queen of Ratings," garnering anticipation even before its broadcast.
Kim Ha-neul adeptly leads the drama, portraying the confident and righteous journalist Seo Jung-won whose psyche gradually crumbles amid shocking events, providing a stable narrative progression.
While starting with lower ratings compared to MBC's "Wonderful World," starring Kim Nam-joo, which debuted with a 5.3% viewership rating around the same time, "Nothing Uncovered" is poised to gain momentum as mysteries surrounding the secret identity of Jung-won's husband and the truth behind the murder case unfold.
