SEOUL, March 27 (Yonhap) -- SM C&C announced on the 27th that they have appointed the entertainer Kang Ho-dong as a board member, following a recent board meeting.
According to SM C&C, "Kang Ho-dong, who has been with the company since 2012 and has grown alongside it as a representative artist, will actively promote the company's vision and values both internally and externally through this appointment."
Nam Gung-chul, the CEO of SM C&C, stated, "Kang Ho-dong is not only a leading entertainer representing South Korea but also the face of SM C&C." He added, "With the expertise and capabilities he has accumulated over the years, I believe he will create synergies in various industries such as advertising, content, and travel."
Kang Ho-dong, who originally rose to fame as a renowned wrestler, debuted on television as a comedian through MBC's special selection program in 1993. He has been active in various entertainment programs and is widely known as the 'National MC.' He received the Grand Prize at the Baeksang Arts Awards for the first time as an entertainer in 2008.
