SUWON, Apr. 25 (Yonhap) – Gyeonggi-do announced on Monday that it will release “New Gyeonggi-do Song,” sung by K-pop girl group MAMAMOO’s Solar, through its website(gg.go.kr) on Apr. 26.
The province unveiled the behind-the-scenes interview video about the singer’s song production through its YouTube channel on Apr. 24, and it is planning to additionally release the song with the video of its production process.
“New Gyeonggi-do Song” made a final selection of the song “Take a rest at Gyeonggi-do,” which was written by Kim Ji-hoon and composed by Onong Project, through the public contest held at the end of 2020.

Gyeonggi-do explained that it decided to collaborate with RBW Entertainment, the agency of MAMAMOO’s Solar, in order to increase familiarity with the province’s song and to cheer for the inhabitants that have been exhausted from the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Solar said during an interview with Gyeonggi-do, “I was surprised that the song was so good when I first listened to it,” adding, “It felt like I was comforted while singing the song.”
