SEOUL, April 2 (Yonhap) -- Group Pentagon’s Hongseok (birth name: Yang Hong-seok) will join the military next month.
"Hong-seok will enter the training center on May 3,” said the agency Cube Entertainment on Saturday.
The agency stated that due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19, there would be no events and did not specify the location and time of the member’s enlistment.
The agency said, "Hongseok will join the military quietly without any special procedures," adding, "We ask for warm support to the member, who will faithfully fulfill his defense obligations and return in a healthy state."
Hongseok debuted as the lead vocalist of Pentagon in 2016 and was loved for his songs such as "Shine" and "Naughty Boy."
This is the third time a Pentagon member has joined the military. Earlier, Jinho (Jo Jin-ho) joined the army in 2020 and was discharged from the military in November last year, and Hui (Lee Hoe-taek) is currently serving as a social worker.
