SEOUL, April 17 (Yonhap) -- South Korean comedy film 'Pilot,' starring Jo Jung-suk, is set to be released on July 31st, according to distributor Lotte Entertainment announced on the 17th.
The movie depicts the story of Han Jeong-woo (played by Jo Jung-suk), a man who becomes unemployed overnight from being a star pilot, then succeeds in his job search after undergoing an identity transformation. Alongside Jo Jung-suk, the film features Lee Joo-myung, Han Sun-hwa, and Shin Seung-ho.
In the trailer for 'Pilot' released on the same day, Han Jeong-woo is shown transformed into 'Han Jeong-mi' after cross-dressing.
The film is directed by Kim Han-gyeol, known for works such as 'Crazy Romance.'
This marks Jo Jung-suk's return to starring in a film after five years since the box office hit 'Exit' (2019), which attracted over 9.42 million viewers. During this time, he has been active in television series such as 'Hospital Playlist' and 'Captivating the King,' as well as musicals like 'Hedwig,' showcasing his talents primarily on screen and stage.
