SEOUL,
Jan. 22 (Yonhap) --
According to the latest chart released Wednesday (local time), "I Just Might" debuted at No. 1 on the main singles chart, beating Taylor Swift’s "The Fate of Ophelia."
With the achievement, Mars has now logged 10 different songs at No. 1 on the Hot 100. He most recently topped the chart last year with "Die With A Smile," a duet with Lady Gaga, and spent a total of 14 weeks at No. 1 in 2015 with "Uptown Funk."
In 2024, Mars also released "APT.," a duet with BLACKPINK’s Rosé, which peaked at No. 3 on the Hot 100.
Billboard said this marks the first time one of Mars’ songs has debuted at No. 1 on the singles chart. It added that he is the fourth male solo artist — following Drake, Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder — to have at least 10 different songs reach the top of the Hot 100.
Meanwhile, three tracks from the original soundtrack of the Netflix animated film "K-pop Demon Hunters" entered the Hot 100 simultaneously.
"Golden" climbed to No. 3 for a second consecutive week and has now remained on the chart for 30 straight weeks. "Soda Pop" followed at No. 44, while "How It’s Done" ranked No. 55.
HYBE’s global girl group KATSEYE also placed two songs on the chart this week. Their hit "Gabriela" came in at No. 24, while new track "Internet Girl" landed at No. 59.
On Billboard’s main albums chart, the Billboard 200, the "K-pop Demon Hunters" OST ranked fifth. KATSEYE’s "Beautiful Chaos" placed No. 43, and Stray Kids’ "DO IT" came in at No. 148.
