SEOUL, Jan. 19 (Yonhap) -- Son Heung-min (30, Tottenham) was delighted with his former colleague Erik Lamela (Sevilla) winning the Puskas Award.

Son wrote on his SNS on Wednesday (KST), with a photo of Lamela's goal ceremony, "Welcome to the Puskas Club bro!”

Lamela, who moved to Sevilla, Spain in July last year after playing with Son Heung-min on Tottenham Hotspur, received the FIFA Puskas Award on the 18th of this month.

The Puskas Award is given to the player with the "best goal" from a soccer game during the year.

Lamela became the hero of the award with the first goal of the Lavona kick against Arsenal in March last year while playing for Tottenham.

Lamela, who received Lucas Moura's pass at the time, scored an exquisite goal with a Lavona kick that flicked his left foot behind his right foot in the penalty area.

In 2020, Son Heung-min scored a wonder goal after a 70m sprint against Burnley and received the Puskas Award.

Tottenham, which produced the winner of the Puskas Award for the second consecutive year, congratulated the two players by posting a message on SNS saying, "2020 Puskas Award winner: Son Heung-min, 2021 Puskas Award winner: Erik Lamela."

Lamela also retweeted the club's post and said, "Great Sonny (Son Heung-min's nickname)."
