SEOUL, April 18 (Yonhap) – The Korea Heritage Service (KHS) and the Korea Heritage Agency (KHA) announced Friday the launch of a new program titled “Monthly Heritage Visit Course,” which offers curated national heritage travel routes each month with benefits such as free or discounted admission.
The designated course for April is the “Royal Route,” which features two suggested itineraries.
Course 1 includes Namhansanseong Fortress, Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, Jongmyo Shrine, Changdeokgung Palace, the Royal Tombs of Yungneung and Geolleung in Hwaseong, and Korea House in Seoul.
Course 2 begins at the Gochang Dolmen Site in Ganghwa and continues through Jeondeungsa Temple, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Jangneung Royal Tomb in Gimpo, Jongmyo Shrine, and Ganghwa History Museum.
Visitors to the listed heritage sites during April will be eligible for various discounts, including coupons for shared vehicle rentals and nearby accommodations.
Future themed courses have also been scheduled: “Sound Path” for May, “Gwandong Elegance Route” for June, “Baekje Ancient Capital Path” for July, “Legends and Nature Route” for August, “Mountain Temple Route” for September, “Prehistoric Geology Route” for October, and “Thousand-Year Spirit Route” for November.
Audio guides featuring travel writers and historians will be produced for each course, providing in-depth introductions to the heritage sites.
Details on the benefits and discounts offered for each month’s featured course will be made available at the beginning of each month via the KakaoTalk Plus Friend account “National Heritage Visit Campaign.” Further information can also be found on the campaign’s official website and Instagram account.
