SEOUL, March 29 (Yonhap) -- K-pop boy group Stray Kids has topped Billboard's main album chart, “Billboard 200.”

According to Billboard’s announcement on Mar. 29, the group’s mini album "ODDINARY" ranked No. 1 on the "Billboard 200" chart on Apr. 2.

The chart ranks albums by the sum of the physical sales figures and the number of streaming and downloads converted into sales figures.

It is the third time that a K-pop artist has topped the chart, following BTS and SuperM.

Its agency JYP Entertainment said, "It is the second time that a single K-pop artist has ranked No. 1 on Billboard 200," adding, "It proved the group’s firm presence and position as the leading next-generation K-pop artists."

Stray Kids, which debuted in 2018, has made its name known to the public with strong performances and music with clear colors.

The second full album "NOEASY," released last year, set a million-seller record 3 years after its debut with cumulative delivering sales of 1.3 million copies on Gaon Chart.

"ODDINARY,” which was released on Mar. 18, sold 853,000 copies in the first week of its release.
