SEOUL, October 20 (Yonhap) -- The Korean Cultural Center New York and KOMACON will be holding a "Bang K-webtoon" special exhibition at the Korean Cultural Center New York gallery Korea starting from October 21 until December 16, to introduce people to representative Korean webtoons, announced on October 19 (local time). 

 

The Korean Cultural Center New York explained that the purpose of this exhibition is to introduce the charm and global influence of K-webtoon, the origin of the sensational "K-drama" in New York, the mecca of popular art. 

 

The exhibition will introduce diverse webtoon pieces with modern senses and traditional materials, such as "Navillera," which was nominated for the "2022 Eisner Awards" best webcomic category, and "True Beauty," which has also gained popularity as a drama, and "The Red Sleeve."
 
Moreover, to help the understanding of the life of the Joseon Dynasty's palace women (Gungnyeo), which is depicted in the webtoon "The Red Sleeve," documents from the Seoul Museum of History explaining the history of the palace women at that time will be placed beside the webtoon.
