SEOUL, Apr. 14 (Yonhap) -- S. Korean singer MC Mong was later found out to be caught by customs at Incheon International Airport last month while trying to carry out US$70,000 (about 86 million won) without customs declaration.
MC Mong said on his Instagram on Apr. 13 afternoon, "Three weeks ago, I tried to enter the United States with $70,000 in expenses to film a documentary for 10 people, including 4 Korean staffs and other local staffs in the United States,” adding, "In the process, I accidentally forgot to declare US$70,000."
He also mentioned, "I even showed them the receipt I brought to declare it, but there was no other chance for me to report it again," adding, "I admit the mistake of not reporting it and my ignorance."
The singer added, “All the people including me cancelled the flight and left the country without cash after delaying all the schedules,” adding, “I admit my fault so please refrain from over-interpretation.”
MC Mong said, “I unconditionally admit my mistake and would like to sincerely apologize.”
