SEOUL, Mar. 17 (Yonhap) – K-pop super girl group BLACKPINK Jennie’s music video for “SOLO” has surpassed 800 million views on YouTube, according to YG Entertainment on Thursday.
The music video exceeded 800 million views on Mar. 17 at 3:24 a.m. Its figure reached 3 years and 4 months after its release in November, 2018.
“SOLO” is a song that expresses confident aspects of not being buried in sorrow even after a breakup with straightforward and frank lyrics. It swept the major music charts after the release with its beautiful melody and simple chorus.
Moreover, Jennie became the first Korean female solo artist to top the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart and to enter the Top 10 on U.S. iTunes at the time of its release.
It is the best record among K-pop female solo artists to produce a music video with more than 800 million views.
