SEOUL, Oct. 30 (Yonhap) -- F.T. Island has decided to proceed with their activities as a duo, excluding drummer Choi Min-hwan, who has stepped back amid a personal controversy.

Choi's agency, FNC Entertainment, announced on the 29th via the Weverse fan platform, “After extensive discussion regarding F.T. Island’s future activities, it has been decided that the group will operate temporarily as a two-member unit."

Vocalist Lee Hongki and bassist Lee Jaejin will perform as a duo, with a session musician filling in on drums starting with their performances scheduled from November 2.

FNC stated, “Lee Hongki and Lee Jaejin are committed to delivering well-prepared performances, and we sincerely apologize to fans and audience members for any confusion."

Choi Min-hwan and former Laboum member Yulhee, who married in 2018 after welcoming a son and later twin daughters, appeared together on KBS2’s variety show "Mr. House Husband 2." However, the couple separated last year, with custody of their children going to Choi.

On October 24, Yulhee posted a video on her YouTube channel claiming that during their marriage, Choi visited adult entertainment venues and exhibited inappropriate behavior. Following these allegations, police received a report of potential violations by Choi under the Act on the Punishment of Acts of Solicitation of Prostitution, launching a preliminary investigation.

In response, FNC announced Choi’s temporary suspension from activities amid the growing controversy.
