SEOUL, September 15 (Yonhap) -- The Busan Metropolitan City implemented strict regulations in response to reports of accommodation facilities in Busan attempting to defraud customers during the upcoming BTS concert on October 15, which is being held to attract visitors to the 2030 Busan World EXPO.

The city announced on Thursday that they will be operating an accommodation fee report center on the city website (https://www.busan.go.kr) until October 15, The city will reply in a week if a report is made for accommodation facilities where costs are ridiculously higher than when it was posted before.

The city also organizes a joint inspection team with the districts and counties to conduct on-site inspections when it is required and issues warnings or improvement orders if there are exorbitant charges.

The city is planning to make the facility go under suspension or other strong measures if they are caught twice.

The city will hold a resolution meeting at midnight on September 15 at 3 p.m. in the Plaza of Busan Station with about 300 people, including members of the Busan branch of accommodation, eateries, rest area, and confectionery.

The attendees of the meeting this day will also hold a campaign hoping to attract people to the 2030 Busan World EXPO.

After transferring the BTS concert venue from the Busan factory of Korea Glass, Ilgwang special stage to the Asiad Main Stadium, the rip-off cases have been expanded all over Busan city, instead of being concentrated at Kijang.

Yeonje-gu, Busan Jin-gu(Seomyeon), which is near the concert hall, and Dong-gu and Gangseo-gu, near the Gimhae Airport, have also been showing a rise in accommodation prices.

The price doubled from the average price, and there are also places where a night costs up to 360 to 430 dollars and a maximum of more than 1,000 dollars.
