SEOUL, Dec. 31 (Yonhap) -- BTS has become the winner of a special category at the Japan Record Awards hosted by Japanese broadcaster TBS, for the second consecutive year, the band's agency said Thursday.
This is the second time the septet won the Special International Music Award which was established the previous year.
BTS was the sole overseas artist that won a trophy at last year’s and this year’s ceremonies.
Although the K-pop supergroup could not attend the ceremony in person, they said in a video message, “We are thankful to win the award once again. We are happy that many people listened to our music this year.”
At the awards ceremony, BTS's "Butter" stage, which was performed at the group's online concert "BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE," was unveiled.
